MIL-V-62008B(AT)
4.5.1.27 Machine gun firing circuits check. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.17, the machine gun firing circuits shall be checked using inspection equipment. Each of the firing triggers should be qualified: gunner power control handle (2), manual elevation pump handle, commander handle, and cupola screw jack shall be checked for functional requirements. When machine gun firing triggers are actuated, listen for audible "click" of machine gun solenoid.
4.5.1.28 Main gun and machine gun circuit controls. To determine conformance to
3.4.9.18, commander controls and gunner controls shall be checked for ability to fire the weapons specified. The loader safety switch shall be closed in the fire position and open in the safe position to control the commander and gunner firing circuits to the main gun.
4.5.1.29 Smoke grenade discharger circuits.
4.5.1.29.1 Arming. To determine conformance to 3.4.9.19.1, operate the master battery switch to on, the turret power switch to on, and the grenade system power switch to on, and
verify that the power-on (ready) lamp in the grenade power box illuminates. Operate the grenade system power switch to off and verify that the power-on (ready) lamp is extinguished.
4.5.1.29.2 Circuit voltage (complete installation). To determine conformance to
3.4.9.19.2, arm the circuit as specified in 4.5.1.34.1 and verify that the power-on (ready) lamp is illuminated. Actuate the right firing pushbutton and verify that the voltage on the smoke grenade discharger pins shown in figure 6 is as specified in 3.4.9.19.2. Actuate the left firing pushbutton and verify that the voltage on the smoke grenade discharger pins is as specified. Return the power-on (ready) switch to off and verify that voltage is not present on any of the firing pins.
4.5.1.29.3 Circuit voltage (Incomplete installation). When smoke grenade discharger and pushbutton unit are not installed on the vehicle, the external firing circuits at the external connector shall be checked on each vehicle by inserting appropriate switching leads at the internal control point. The complete installation shall be checked on a control basis in conjunction with stowed equipment (OVE) tests of 4.5.2.4.
4.5.1.30 Power gackage and train tests. To determine conformance to 3.6.2, the vehicle shall be operated throughout all gear and speed ranges, the power plant power train, final drives, tracks, suspension system, and controls checked for functions.
4.5.1.31 Level road speed test. To determine conformance to 3.6.3.1, the vehicle shall be operated at maximum speed for not less than 10 minutes and at minimum speed for not less than 5 minutes and checked for function of components. Drift shall be not more than that specified. During the maximum speed test cycle, the vehicle shall maintain a speed of not less than 30 mph, 100 yard distance 10 consecutive times.
4.5.1.32 Acceleration test. To determine conformance to 3.6.4, the vehicle shall be operated as specified and the distance and time checked.
