4.3.3 Servicing and restoration. Each unit tested shall be serviced and restored to a
service condition equal to the original condition of the unit, neglecting nominal wear incurred
during the tests. The restoration shall include paint touchup or repainting, as required for
delivery.

4.3.4 Exhaust gas test. The vehicle shall be tested to determine the concentration of NOx
CO and SO2 in the vehicle after 8 hours of engine operation. The tests shall be in accordance
with TOP 2-2-614. The tests shall, be conducted with the vehicle stationary, with all cab
windows and doors closed, with cab air intakes open, with all cab heaters operating at highest
output, and with the engine operating at idle speed. The test shall be repeated except with the
heater off. The allowable eight-hour, time weighted averages of TOP-2-614 shall not be
exceeded.

4.3.6 Failure of first production vehicle. Failure to successfully complete the road test or
to meet the requirements shall be cause for the Government to refuse acceptance of the vehicle
pending corrective action and reinspect ion or retest. The necessity for replacement of any major
component as a result of the road test may mandate a complete retest at the discretion of the
Government. Rejection of the vehicle shall be for deficiencies, including but not limited to the
following:
(a)
Damage caused by collision
(b)
Failure of any major component
(c)
Vibration due to misalinement of wheels, tracks, drivetrain or frame
(d)
Vibration due to type of construction or mounting
(e)
Evidence of abnormal tire wear
(f)
Failure of vehicular safety device such as brakes or electrical circuits
(g)
Evidence of structural weakness in any part of the vehicle, vehicle component or
accessory
(h) Loose mounting of parts or accessories due to workmanship or vehicle operation
(i) Fuel leakage.
4.4 Inspection of production vehicle. The contractor's inspection system shall, as a
minimum, assure that the vehicle conforms to the physical and dimensional requirements and is
capable of meeting performance requirements contained herein. For each vehicle under contract,
the contractor shall make available to the Government, at the point of final acceptance, records
acceptable to the Government indicating that the servicing and adjusting required by 3.6 have
been accomplished.
