DETAIL SPECIFICATION
CARRIERS, FULL-TRACKED: M548A1 AND M730A1
This specification is approved for use by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive
and Armaments Command, Department of the Army, and is available for
use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers two types of unarmored full-tracked, diesel powered
vehicles. The M730A1 vehicle is designed for cross country and amphibious operation as a
guided missile carrier. The M548A1 vehicle is for cross country operation only, as cargo and
ammunition support carrier (see 6.1).
1.2 Classification. Vehicles are one of the following models (see 6.2).

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
